Southcombe Garage - Who are you?
We are an independent garage (not a franchised dealership) repairing all makes of vehicles and light vans. As a result we have to work harder to win new business and retain the loyalty of our customers. This involves being as flexible as possible to accommodate your needs and being as open as possible so we help you to understand your vehicle requirements. Integrity is important to us, we will do what we say we are going to, if there is a problem we will contact your first to make sure you have no nasty surprises. We try to go the extra mile in everything we do to ensure that you can as well.
What's your history?
Southcombe Garage Ltd was founded by Chris Dix back in 1969 on the same site. Back then it consisted of a petrol station and a kiosk. Chris expanded the business into tyres with a couple of workshops and from there he carried on developing the site to its current size. Ben Dix the current owner, started to work for his father at the age of thirteen and on leaving school worked there full time. He helped to develop the business with his dad, becoming a partner in 2005 and purchased the garage in 2009.
Where are you?
We are based in Chipping Norton in north Oxfordshire, close to the borders of Warwickshire, Worcestershire, Northamptonshire and Gloucestershire.
What work do you carry out?
- MOT inspections and servicing,
- Mechanical repairs covering brakes, suspension, clutches, timing belt replacement, batteries, exhausts, diagnostics, tyres, wheel alignment, wheel balancing.
- and a whole host of other repairs.
We provide a reminder service when (or just before) your MoT is due. We are happy to provide advice and set out any options with regard to repairs. In our book it is important that the customer understands what we are doing and why.

- We have a fleet of courtesy cars that we supply free of charge to keep you on the move.
- We are a lot cheaper than the main dealer across the vehicles requirements.
When can you fix my car and what do I need to do to book it in?
